When I put my outfits together, it tends to start with one piece of the outfit then builds from there. Typically, this starting point is my shoes. My game night outfit for the Stars v. Avalanche game was this super cute skirt from local Denver boutique Sous le Lit. (I love shopping local and understand the value behind putting your money back into your own community. If you can shop local, I always recommend doing so!)
Though I have many, I'm not a big skirt wearer. My body type tends to look a little awkward in skirts, so I normally steer away from them. I loved the ruffles and the extra tie fabric in front of the skirt. This detail also made it look a little more unique than a traditional pencil skirt.
Since the skirt had a lot of character on it's own, I didn't want to incorporate to busy of a top. I found this super soft, basic white tank from Aritzia when I was visiting my best friend in Toronto over the summer. I had never been to Aritzia before since we don't have one in Colorado, but it was AMAZING. They carry a few different labels and their basics are top notch!!
The red heels are one of my favorite pairs to wear. This pair from Aldo are a few seasons old, but they do have some beautiful red heels in their current collection! I think it's crucial to have a good pair of red heels in your wardrobe.
Don't forget to accessorize!
I'm kind of obsessed with jewelry, I suppose you could say it's in my blood. I think Carol Channing was onto something when she first sang "Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend."
These diamond link earrings are one of my absolute favorites from Shay Jewelry. I paired them with a traditional bezel set diamond necklace made by Hurdle's Jewelry. (Side Note: Do you have a diamond in a piece of jewelry you don't wear? Make one of these necklaces with it without breaking the bank!)
Both the earrings and necklace are in rose gold. I know so many people feel that rose gold is a trend, but I'm going to say that trend is here to stay!
