PLAYOFFS Game 6 Game Night Outfit - Nashville vs. Avalanche - 4/22/18

The Avalanche shocked everyone with their character and drive this season. If you would’ve told me at the beginning of the season, that come April we’d be heading into Game 6 after suffering many injuries and still battling against a tough President’s Trophy winning team, I would’ve said you’d lost your marbles. There’s no doubt they’ve won back the hearts of many Avs fans, lost from previous seasons.

I can’t believe this is my 6th season coming to a close. This was by far and above my most memorable season yet. Every year, fans turn into family, I meet new faces and have the fortunate experience of creating new memories. Plus, I didn’t fall on the ice once this year!! Wahoo!!

BB Dakota Dennett Off the Shoulder Lace Dress

This BB Dakota Dennett off the shoulder lace dress was a perfect way to end a season of game night outfits. I recently purchased this from Inspyre Boutique in the Highlands. This was a new item they were just getting ready to put out on the floor! It was on the higher end of their price options, but I’m happy to spend the $94 on a quality dress that will last me through many future events! It's sold out everywhere online so make sure to check out Inspyre Boutique to pick yours up!!

Since the back was completely open I didn’t wear a bra, however I have these sticky pads that work like a charm. Highly recommend them for girls who wear open back pieces. Link to these are here:

Hot Pink Studded Heels - Wild Diva

I’ve featured these beauties before but they’re truly one of my favorites. I received so many compliments on these bright heels. They came from Angels in Broomfield at the Flatiron Crossing Mall and they were so cheap!! I’m talking $34 cheap! There is an Angels at the Colorado Mills Mall as well, if Broomfield is a little too far away for you. If you’re not local to the area at all you can find these online on Poshmark in a few different sizes

Not familiar with Poshmark?! Take a look at my blog post about selling clothes on Poshmark here:

#HumboldtStrong

Some of you asked what the green ribbons are for. They are a sign of support for the tragic events that occurred to the Humboldt Broncos minor league hockey team earlier this month. As many of them still recover, our thoughts are with them and their families affected by this tragedy. If you’re interested in donating to their recovery and to families that lost loved ones please visit:

Avs Fam

This crew is the most incredible group of humans. I am so fortunate to get to work with these guys night in and night out. They deserve so much credit for the shows the put on each night and I feel beyond grateful to be part of their tribe!

Thank you so much for your dedication, kind words and support of this dream. I love sharing my outfits and fashion ideas, but without you readers it truly wouldn’t matter. This summer I plan to do a lot more lifestyle & fashion blogging so please, stay tuned! If there’s anything you’d love to see more of too, please let me know!! I promise to get a few of the delayed game night outfit posts up too. I had a few towards the end of the season I skipped over to get playoffs outfits up right away.

Well, that wraps up the final game night outfit of the season (minus the few throwback ones I’ll get up asap). I’m sad our guys didn’t get further in the playoffs, but what an incredible ride it was! It’s a pretty bright future for our young and talented Avalanche squad.

PLAYOFFS Game 4 Game Night Outfit - Predators v. Avalanche - 4/18/18

Holy bananas this series has had us all on the edge of our seats. Games 3 & 4 have been absolutely electric!! Who's ready for Game 6??  I had to get this game night outfit post up from Game 4 before Game 6...even if it means 1 hour before!

My girls over at Free People in Boulder got me all set up for this game. I LOVE the Boulder location, they're so sweet there. I feel like it's so rare these days to walk into a women's boutique and feel genuinely appreciated as a patron. Is that just me or is this more common?? Anyway, Free People on Pearl Street is wonderful, they're caring, genuine and actually make shopping extremely enjoyable!

I've listed all the details below for Game 4's game night outfit. Let me know what you think!!

In Heaven Embellished Slip - Free People

This dress is $128, and worth every penny! I struggle to fit into the coachella, hippie-chic look (shocking considering I'm from Boulder, I know). I love everything from Free People, but sometimes it's a little too far out of my element. This dress was the perfect balance of coachella and going out type of "Nicole" dress, if you will.

Faux Leather Crisscross Rose Gold Heels - Forever 21

After picking out this dress, I knew I'd want some pretty rose gold accents. I went searching for a pair of rose gold shoes to match the jewels.

I found these at Forever 21 for just $24.90!! They're still available up on their website, you can shop them here!

Rose Gold Jewels

All the jewels came from my family store for this outfit, Hurdle's Jewelry. We recently started carrying a line featuring these stunning pave diamond looks. The earrings below are from that line! It's so new to our store that we haven't quite gotten them up online yet, but you can stop by the store anytime to see the rest of their collection!! Hurdle's is located up on 14th & Pearl in Boulder.

The diamond stick necklace was made by one of my favorite designers, Facet Barcelona. They have the most stunning diamond tennis bracelets. This little stick necklace was the perfect edition to balance out the big diamond earrings.

We didn't get the result we wanted out of Game 4, but our guys have fought back and now it's time to rock the Pepsi can!!

Get ready Avalanche fans, Game 6 is going to be bonkers.

PLAYOFFS Game 3 Game Night Outfit - Predators v. Avalanche - 4/16/18

Last night's atmosphere in Pepsi Center was out of this world!!!! Avs fans brought it and it paid off with the way the guys played!

I'm skipping ahead a few game night outfits to this special playoff edition!

Playoff hockey is unlike any other sporting experience. If you aren't doing anything tomorrow night, head down to Pepsi Center for Game 4. You will not regret it!! They just released a handful of tickets for tomorrow's game. You can buy them on the Colorado Avalanche website.

Inspyre Boutique - Jack by B.B. Dakota LBD

There's just something about a brand new LBD (Little Black Dress)! I had one of those "I have NOTHING to wear" moments this weekend when I was organizing outfits for the week. Enter Inspyre Boutique.

I found this gorgeous faux suede dress from Jack by B.B. Dakota. This is available now at Inpsyre Boutique locations all over Denver. I wore a size XS and it absolutely has some stretch to it without being baggy.

The best thing about Inspyre Boutique is that everything is under $100, and when you're like me (needing a million different items in my wardrobe) this is crucial!

This dress also has a cute little keyhole open back! Nothing too large that you can't wear a normal bra with it though.

Red Studded Heels

Have you noticed that I have a thing for heels, studs and pops of color?? I think I've got a theme going on. I got these shoes at Angels in the Flatiron Crossing Mall. They were $15, I REPEAT they were $15!!

I love the studded details and the extra gold around the front. Unfortuantely, Angels doesn't have a website or a way to shop online, but they do have their store at the Broomfield Flatirons Crossing Mall as well as the Colorado Mills Mall. They may have other locations but I'm only familiar with those two.

They carry a lot of shoes from Wild Diva & Qupid, two inexpensive brands that I love!! Qupid always has discounts on their website too!

Game Night Outfit - Flyers v. Avalanche - 3/28/18

At this point in the season, on a Wednesday night late game...I became desperate. Desperate to be creative and come up with a cute outfit after so many in a row and a few more to come!

That's when I turn to the old 'gram to see if there are any previous outfits I've worn in past seasons. I realized I hadn't worn this amazing black dress yet this season. This dress was actually one of my favorites of all season last year.

This is a great style tip I use all the time. If you're feeling unmotivated to pick out a cute outfit for a night out, look through your old photos. Surely you took a photo of an outfit you felt like a boss babe in right?!

Society of Chic

Back when Instagram was a small sibling in comparison to Facebook, I found the Society of Chic Instagram page. This was my first experience buying items that I found purely through Instagram.

I have purchased many items through their site based on their Instagram, and have yet to be disappointed.

This black dress, by far, takes the cake. I've worn the heck out of this dress, so much so that I had to re-sew a button that had fallen off about 20 minutes before game time!

Black Studded Heels

I just looked back through my entire blog of game night outfit posts. I can't believe I haven't worn these heels yet this season! I mean, I've worn them in every other color I own, but not the black ones!

I love these studded Valentino look-a-likes. As I've mentioned in a previous blog post, one of the rules Victoria Beckham taught me in her book That Extra Half an Inch: If you find something in your wardrobe that works for you, and I mean WORKS, buy it in every color!!

That's what I did with these puppies. I'm glad to report that you can still get these Wild Diva heels at the Flatiron Crossing Mall store Angels! And they're only $34!!

I originally bought these heels on Lulu's ages ago. You can enter your e-mail incase they ever become available again through their site!

Game Day Outfit - Golden Knights v. Avalanche - 3/24/18

This game is one of the most memorable ones all year thus far. It was a huge game for the Avs to win heading towards the post season. Plus, they went into OT, then into a shoot out. The environment at Pepsi Center was electric!! Perhaps it was a small preview of what playoffs will feel like??

The game night outfit was not quite as electric as the game despite the fluorescent pink accents on my heels (funny story about these heels below).

H&M Lace Dress

Business in the front, party in the back...that's a thing right??

That's exactly what I thought when I saw this dress. It's very professional and conservative in the front but has a cute little open back lace accent. I've had this dress for quite some time and I love that H&M dresses are made well to last for years!!

It's tricky to see in photos, but I paired this with a hot pink bandeau top to help pull together the heels with the outfit. I love throwing in a pop of color to a dark outfit (i.e. this navy dress). You can only see a hint of the bandeau top in the back, but I like the smaller accents when you're using bright colors with the darker ones.

Bandeau Top

Truth be told, the bandeau I wore with this outfit was from T.J. Maxx. Since it's impossible to find anything twice from there, I decided to feature my favorite place to shop for intimates like this one.

Two words. Free. People.

If you follow any bloggers on Instagram, you've surely seen their Adella Bralette on almost everyone! I have 3 colors of this bralette and am planning to buy a few more within the next 24 hours, honestly. They're perfect under any top or dress that reveals a little more than what you'd like with just a bra on. They also have a few different lace bandeau options as well, much like the one I wore during this game.

Check out all of their intimates here!

Bershka Heels (Favorite Barcelona Find)

Once upon a time, I was a Denver Nuggets Dancer. During this time, I was incredibly fortunate to travel all over the world with them. One of my favorite trips included a short weekend in Italy then a week in Barcelona, Spain.

IT. WAS. INCREDIBLE.

Even saying that is an understatement. During our week off in Barcelona between performances, we did some serious shopping damage. One of the stores we wandered into was Bershka. Think a mix of Zara and H&M with a pop of Forever 21. I found this pair of tan heels with fluorescent pink accents in a size 7...I'm a 7.5. So I pulled an ugly step-sister and shoved my big feet into the size 7. Needless to say, 6 years later, I'm still rockin' the Bershka heels.

I always say it's important to feel comfortable in your heels. I still believe this to be true. However, there are exceptions to every rule right? Just make sure you can still walk okay in them without looking like a joint-less Barbie doll deal?!

Game Night Outfit - Kings v. Avalanche - 3/22/18

As we come closer to the end of the season, each Avalanche game result becomes more and more important. Spoiler alert....WE MAKE THE PLAYOFFS!!! This just happened last night but we're going to jump back in time to 3/22 for this game night outfit feature!

This may be a surprise based on my love for jewels, but I've never worn a statement necklace before tonight's game!

I've blogged about Kiwi Boutique in Boulder before, and I was beyond sad to see Whitney close her store front on Pearl Street. But, good news....she's still offering private shopping and styling!! I was fortunate enough to shop her collection a few weeks ago! This game night outfit was completely thanks to her!

LBD

There's just no such thing as having too many little black dresses! I love this one from Kiwi Boutique because of the elasticity on the side. It allows me to wear it a little longer or pull it up to an above-the-knee look without looking too bulky!

Statement Necklace

This one also came from the lovely Kiwi Boutique. I love the chain detail on this necklace. One of the main reasons I've avoided statement necklaces until now was simply due to Stassi's (from Vanderpump Rules) obsession for them. I don't know why but she put such a negative spin on them for me! Haha, it's silly, I know.

I'm glad I overcame this ridiculous obstacle of trying them out. I know they've had their run in the fashion world, but I think it's a beautiful accessory to incorporate with the right outfit!

Blue Studded Heels

I'm pretty sure I officially own these Valentino-inspired studded heels in every color now. I've worn these a few times before and they're still one of my favorites. The blue portion is a pretty suede-like material, and the best part about them is they're actually comfortable! I bought these from Charlotte Russe originally, but they have them available in a few different colors from Wild Diva as well (as shown on my other posts!)

A few things I've learned from this game night outfit:
  1. Statement necklaces are still in and look great with certain outfits.
  2. You can never have too many LBD's
  3. Shopping from local businesses run by women is really amazing and powerful!! Support one and other, shop local and admire those driven to fulfill their dreams through local business!

Game Night (Day) Outfit - Red Wings v. Avs - 3/18/18

Avs taking on the Red Wings always makes for a fun, edgy game. Anyone who's an Avalanche fan knows the long standing rivalry between the two teams. One of my fondest moments working with the Avs, came from the NHL Stadium Series Alumni Game between the Red Wings alumni and Avalanche alumni. Growing up in Colorado, these guys were major celebrities and you were taught to hate the Red Wings! Well to this day, I can tell you, I'm not a fan of the red & white. Now onto the game day outfit.

It's Not About the Tag

Believe it or not this dress is from H&M maternity collection! No, no, I'm not preggers...I just saw it walking through their store one day, fell in love with it, bought it, then looked at the tag. Yep, H&M Mama Collection.

This proves the life long lesson that you don't need to pay attention to what's on the tag, whether it be the label, size, or collection. If you like it and it fits you well then who cares what's on the tag?!

The only downside to this dress being maternity is the extra fabric in the chest area. Obviously this a design built for a specific reason...not necessarily a reason I need with my body type! By adding a belt (Super cheap from Target!), I was able to tuck some of that extra fabric around to the side. Plus, I needed a pop of color.

Target does not have the hot pink version any more but they have a baby pink version that's just as cute! Check out the belt here and see the offer code below for 20% off!

Valentino Look-a-Likes

To match the hot pink belt I added, I figured some fluorescent pink heels would make for a nice selection.

I've featured these before up on the blog. I found these $34 heels at Angels in the Broomfield Flatirons Mall. If this happens to be the first time reading my blog, news flash...I'm obsessed with getting a good deal! I LOVE finding a cute outfit or accessory at a steal of a deal! Angels is definitely a winner when it comes to cheap, yet super cute shoes!

As I mentioned in my last blog post, it's SO important to try shoes on, especially heels. Walk around in them a little while still in the store. If they're super uncomfortable at that point, they're not going to get better with time. This really holds true for cheap shoes!

These heels are from the brand Wild Diva. You can always search them on Poshmark (my favorite re-sale app). I found a few different sizes available up on Poshmark for $15 - 20! If you're not familiar with Poshmark check out my previous blog post Will Work for Clothes.

Half Up Pony

This hair style is VERY unlike me. I went with a half up pony tail. I felt like a 10-year-old, but it was kind of fun and something different. Sometimes change is good. I recommend trying new styles, whether it be your hair, dress, or makeup. You never know what will click!

Also....I like nachos

Game Night Outfit - Predators v. Avalanche - 3/16/18

This is my favorite outfit of the WHOLE season so far!!!

If you've followed my blog or spoken to me about fashion just once, you know what a massive fan of Vici Collection I am! They have the BEST stuff including this lace romper! The only downside to their website, you have to stay active on it. Their cute outfits get sold out so quickly!

Many times, just like this romper, you can submit your size preference and they will e-mail you as soon as it's back in stock. In some cases an item will get returned in your size, which they will then notify you that it's available...but PRO TIP: When you get that email, ACT FAST!!! If an item is sold out, you can bet you're not the only one on the waitlist!

Vices Lace Romper

This lace romper from Vici Collection is EVERYTHING! It is currently sold out but you can enter your email and size preference and they'll email you if one becomes available!

It's bell sleeves and open back add so much flare. If you haven't noticed already, I LOVE IT!

Open Toe Lace-Up Bootie

Well I figured since I had a lace romper, I'd continue with the lace theme. These lace-up tan open toed booties are from Charlotte Russe. They are surprisingly comfortable and go with everything! I love perusing the Charlotte Russe shoe wall at their store.

It's always important to try shoes on and walk around for a minute or two. You should be able to tell immediately if they're going to cut into your feet or be uncomfortable. If they're uncomfortable at that point, there's no way they'll break in, I promise!

These exact booties are no longer available on their site, but check out the other tan boot options they are currently offering here!

This is most definitely, my favorite outfit of the season. What are your thoughts?! I love getting your feedback! Feel free to comment below or e-mail me at nicole@roserocksandretailtherapy.com! As always, thank you for reading! Go Avs!
